What is the Gospel?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news of God’s salvation plan for a broken humanity through his son Jesus Christ. Though humanity has rebelled and turned from a holy God, God continued to pursue his creation. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to earth to perfectly fulfill the law of God on our behalf. He was crucified on the cross and bore the punishment that we rightly deserved because of our sin. On the cross, Jesus served as our substitute by bearing the sins of many. Jesus died, and then rose to life again three days later. Because of Jesus’ work on the cross, sins are forgiven and hearts are made new by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other way to have a relationship with God and to be saved from sin. Only by grace through faith. Once a person is a new creation, they continue in the Gospel by grace through faith.
